Hello muddah, hello faddah,
Here I am at Camp Granada.
Camp is very entertaining,
And they say we'll have some fun if it stops raining!
I went hiking with Joe Spivey,
He developed poison ivy.
You remember Lennard Skinard,
He got ptomain poisoning last night after dinner!
All the counselors hate the waiters,
And the lake has alligators!
And the head coach wants no sissies,
So he reads to us from something called 'Ulysses'.
No, I don't want this should scare ya,
But my bunkmate has malaria!
You remember Jeffrey Hardy,
They're about to organize a searching party!
Take me home, oh muddah, faddah.
Take me home, I hate Granada.
Don't leave me out in the forest,
Where I might get eaten by a bear!
Take me home, I promise I will not make noise,
Or mess the house with other boys.
Oh please don't make me stay;
I've been here one whole day!
Dearest faddah, darling muddah,
How's my precious little bruddah?
Let me come home if you miss me;
I would even let Aunt Bertha hug and kiss me!
Wait a minute; it stopped hailing.
Guys are swimming, guys are sailing.
Playing baseball, gee that's better.
Muddah, faddah, kindly disregard this letter!

Aw, it's HARD to let them go! I saw a plate with food so you know that is good, right? I bet he is having fun!
Was it because he KNEW you were going to go home and blog about it?
I am sure that he is having a great time by now!!
Oh,leaving your baby at summer camp must be hard, but I'm sure he's having fun by now!
Its always an adjustment the first 1-2 days of camp ... but he will survive and so will you, mama!
I love it...
I just paid 500 more to change Marissa's ticket home cause after 12 days 'I just want to go home' she seemed to be having fun, but just missed her mother and dog, can you believe being in Brasil and wanting to go home to HOUSTON!
Wait a second...I recognize this place.
He'll be fine. Chesapeake Bay Daughter loved it last year. She did say the food was good, and she's finicky.
That song!! I bet he is having a blast.... Hang in there Mom, Little T will be home before you know it :)
Oh I love that camp letter/song! Little T looks happy enough! He's such an adorable kid...I love him.
Awwww. When mine were at camp, they were just fine. I, however, cried myself to sleep every night. College is going to be fun.
Thank you thank you thank you for helping me get rid of the earworm that Meg (soup is not a finger food) left me with, with her Captain and Tenille post from earlier.
I love the Camp Song and can not wait to teach it to Gaby!
*sigh*
It goes by fast doesn't it? Spending time at summer camp and before you know it, your kids are heading into college and then winging their way into the air force. Oh good Lord...I've gone and started crying again.
I'm gonna go dry up, have a glass of wine and sing the camp song to the cats...they're the only ones awake around the asylum.
awww, I think he will survive...somehow...I love that song too, I remember it from when my kids were at camp. Hope YOU survive too...;p
He'll do fine. The hard part is worrying about them while they're gone! I agree with Mama... tough stuff!
This makes me think of Ernest Goes To Camp. Such fun!
Don't listen to them. You won't be fine until he's home. He, however, is happy. While that's good, it kind of stinks, too.
Don't look. That face is hard to resist.
He's happy, but reticent. Yeah. That's it!
We'll try to drown your sorrows Saturday night;)
Hang in there, Mama! He'll be home soon!
Hey Noe Noe girl, hope you're having a good day. In regards to mosaics, you can go to http://dearlittleredhouse.blogspot.com/2009/07/making-photo-mosaics-tutorial.html to learn how to make mosaics in flickr, or if you have a google account you can download picasa 3 to store your pictures in. They have a button for making collages. It is really easy. If you need further help let me know and I'll do my best to guide you.
Camp is so wonderful for young people! I would love to send my daughter. Really should consider saving up for next summer. I worked at Camp Fire USA and did all the camp registrations. I know how much they grow at camp.
Hope you can enjoy yourself, and that he does too!
Don't worry. He is happy. Kaish doesn't want to go to camp. I am ok with that : ) Wink Wink
I love this post. I love the song :) you sure do know how to add a special touch. Miss you too!
I'm sure this camp was fun. I think kids love this type of thing. I know you will probably miss him more then he will have time to miss you.
Love that song. I never went to summer camp.
