Going Green

My CdubbleU does nothing in a small way. Always thinking of ways to make things better and more efficient. When it comes to cutting costs and savings he's the best and he has taught me lots. After much research and doing his homework, Cdub decided we needed larger heating and cooling units for our home in order to accommodate the two new rooms that used to be our garage (the one that has never had a car in it). Plus it is about time for a replacement since ours is 15 years old. And with the savings he had saved by contracting out the destruction and doing a lot of the the work himself he felt justified in getting this new heating and cooling system for our home. Its a geothermal heat pump .

Geothermal has been around for a while, not sure where I have been though. Now all of this is going on right outside the front door and this activity is happening in the front yard even as I type. Check out the Tin Man that guards our yard!

Two ditches 300 feet long! Mounds of dirt! Did Little T have a ball in this ditch??

All of this started yesterday morning and if all goes according to plan this project will be completed by this afternoon! This system should pay for itself within a few years. I love it when a plan comes together. But I really love my CdubbleU. What a keeper he is!
That's him in the coonskin hat! We're doing our part in going green! Well he's making sure we do! Come on back for updates!

Congrats on the new heat and cooling pump. I (for the first time) seen one being installed on one of the shows on HGTV last week. First I had heard of them either. Let us know how it works for you and if it saves you much.
