Maggie

This past Saturday (February 27th) I did something I had to do but dreaded it at the same time. I attended the funeral of my dear friend Maggie. It's one of those things that we all know will eventually happen. I was just so not ready for this. And this was not supposed to happen. Not now. And not to me. Children are not supposed to die before their parents. I just talked to Maggie a few weeks ago. We joked over the phone. She was fine, so she said. We had plans for a get together. It was the last time I heard her voice. My heart broke when I got the news of her passing. Maggie and I have been friends for over twenty five years. She was like a sister to me. My family thought a lot of her as well. Maggie was always there for me no matter what. She knew me and despite all my faults she loved me anyway. Where ever she went, Maggie would spread joy, laughter and love. She was always there to lend a helping hand. We were room mates years ago. We shared so much fun, lots of travels, lots of parties and just some real good times. We have laughed and cried together. Many times. Maggie was loved by many. And she will be missed. This was a wake up call for me. Am I really getting older? Because I don't feel old. It makes you think of your own mortality. It makes me sick and it makes me sad and it makes me mad all at the same time. So as a reminder, hold your loved ones near and tell them you love them often. Hug and kiss your children every chance you get. Get right with your higher power. Because we are here but for a fleeting moment. And life is just way too short.I love you Maggie and I miss you. So until I see you again my friend...Rest in Peace.

I'm sorry to read you have lost a dear friend too soon. I too, lost a friend who was like a sister, our friendship was 43 years long...and she is the one who sang me "Camelot" when I was young, comforting me when my father died at age 8. (step Dad died 2 years ago and how I wished my friend was here then).

I was happy to live to age 50, because she didn't.

((HUGS)))) Sincerely,

Stephany

I am so sorry, Noe noe! It is scary when we stop and consider our own mortality. There is still so much to be done!

Oh Noe Noe. I am heartbroken for your loss. She looks like a wonderfully beautiful person. I am so thankful you had a friend just like her. I know that she is in a better place with Jesus. I pray that you will be able to cope with this sadness. My heart hurts for you!

You and she shared loving and happy times, and you cannot put a price tag on that. So many people wander through life never knowing how to love other people, even friends, and it's sad.

Losing a friend so soon is more than sad, it's astonishing.

Love you, NNG, and hope that your happy memories of your friend somehow make you laugh and smile through the tears which I know are many.

((((hugs))) NNG. When good friends leave us they take a piece of our hearts, don't they? It really does make us take a look at our own mortality.

Noe, Noe, I will keep you in my thoughts. I am sad to hear about the loss of your beautiful friend. Keep your memories alive and remember all the good times you shared.

Yours is the third blog I've read today about the passing of a loved one. It really does make you wonder about mortality.

I wish you well my friend and I hope you have someone who can give you a great big hug and just let you cry until you can't cry anymore.

Somebody once said something that's always stuck with me: "Nobody's too young to die". I'm so sorry for your pain and your loss.

Those kinds of good-byes leave such a hole in our lives, don't they? I'm so sorry that you lost anyone - but especially someone you loved so dearly.

Nora, you have my Deepest Sympathy! There are still hard days to come when you think of her, but try to remember, she is in a much better, more beautiful, peaceful place than we are and we all have our guardian angels watching over us...as I am certain she will watch over you!
Praying for peace and guidance for understanding for you! Love and HUGS!

NNG...I am so sad to read of your friend's passing. This has been a trying time for some of my loved ones, as well. Hold your memories close, and your loved ones even closer. We never know when our time is up, so we should tell them today and every day how we feel about them. HUGS to you, and see you tonight...
