Queen for a Day

I hope your Thanksgiving meal was as "Yummy" as mine. We do not live "down the street" to many places so going out to eat at our place is considered a "luxury." And Thanksgiving Day holds a special meaning for CdubbleU and me, as it is also the day we moved into this place we call home. Twelve years now but that is for another post!

The day started out with a few chores and then with CdubbleU not feeling up to par. Little T was at his Aunt's house who lives in town, so I dolled up somewhat and headed that way. I met up with my mother and the four of us landed at Ruby Tuesday's for the traditional Thanksgiving meal!

The meal started off with Little T making a toast with the raising of the water glasses and shouting "Happy Thanksgiving." Following with a Sprite for him and "adult beverages" for the rest of us we placed our order. The traditional chicken fingers and fries for Little T and Parmesan Shrimp Pasta Tender,(spicy shrimp are seasoned and sautéed, then served over pasta in Parmesan cream sauce and accented with diced tomatoes) for the rest of us. Desert was a Chocolate Chip Cookie and Strawberries &Ice Cream Fresh berries with a strawberry sauce over vanilla ice cream in a delicate puff pastry. We were fat!

I ordered the traditional turkey and dressing "to go" for CdubbleU. I hugged and kissed my family. (Little T stayed another night with his aunt.) Making my way back to the big woods, I reflected on my life, my blessings and I am truly grateful. And yep....I was Queen for a Day!
